Young Entrepreneur Series – Tapware

Sam Kaplan and Louie Harboe’s company, Tapware, was founded when the boys were just 12 years old. Tapware is a promising technology startup in Chicago developing mobile applications for iPhones.

Louis is a graphic designer specializing in icons and interfaces. Sam is talented computer programmer who has also served as a keynote speaker for the National American Council for Online Learning.

And they both have been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. The two were seventh graders at the University of Chicago Laboratory school and had been planning to open a business together for years. Their first application was called “The Mathmaster” and is a fun game to help get kids excited about math concepts!

They developed it quickly and turned it around to the Apple App Store in just a week. The two have been working on a second application based on their site
